United Way of Metro Chicago fights for the health, education, financial stability and safety of every person in every neighborhood across the region. We believe there is power in different people working toward a common goal. And there is power in communities coming together. Our largest and most complex challenges can only be solved by thoughtful convening and coordinated action that leads to real results. At our core, United Way of Metro Chicago is a connector of passionate advocates, experienced problem solvers, dedicated volunteers and selfless givers who are united in the fight for stronger neighborhoods.

To build stronger neighborhoods for a stronger Chicago region, United Way of Metro Chicago identified the need to work differently -- both how we work with our community partners and how community organizations work with each other and residents. Using a collective impact approach, we harness the power of nonprofits, government officials, schools, businesses and community members to address ten city and suburban neighborhood’s most pressing challenges through our Neighborhood Network Initiative. This initiative provides the support needed on the ground in neighborhoods, rallying people, organizations and community leaders around a common goal and the strategies to achieve it.
